![]() ![]() Games like Hotline Miami, Vlambeer's games, Risk of Rain and Gunpoint would most likely not have existed without Game Maker, and I think that outweighs the restrictions. But even though it's restricted it still lets people create games way easier without the games becoming shovelware crap. Game Maker is not a perfect tool for game developers. They could have ran out of money, gotten stuck in a dead end, or ran out of time and scrapped the project. If they hadn't used Game Maker and they put an equal amount of labour into it then I promise you that the game wouldn't have been anywhere near as finished, hell, Risk of Rain might never have happened. By using Game Maker they've been able to work way more efficiently, they've saved a load of time, and they've been able to get everything done faster. ![]() How do you know that they'd be better, though? Hypothetically if the Risk of Rain developers created the game in C# and made it exactly the same but better then of course it'd be better, but that's not realistic. ![]()
